Unless otherwise stated, all sizes used in describing Tuffpaks refer to inside dimensions.

The first two numbers are the minimum diameter in inches. The case is octagonal so there may be directions where there is slightly more than the minimum diameter.

The second two numbers represent the minimum length (in inches) of the tripod you'll want to put in the case.

On the TP-0936 Tuffpak, the overall inside length of the case is 38 inches. (We made room for the foam that will protect your tripod.)

In the lid and in the base is a piece of 2 inch foam which we estimate will be compressed to 1 inch each. 38 inches less the 2 inches of foam equals the 36 inch measurement we use.

One other note about the length is that the top will telescope out approximately 4 inches if needed.

This case has a minimum inside diameter of "09" inches.

This case will snugly hold a tripod with a length of "36" inches up to 41 inches if the lid is telescoped out.

The foam in the lid is glued in.

The foam in the base (which is protected from the feet of your tripod by a plastic disk) is held in place by detents we've molded into the base of each case.
